Narishige's HIC is a needle holder end cap with stainless steel collar. Incorporatoin of a stainless steel collar into an end cap, which were previously separate parts, prevents loss of components and breakage of capillary from movement of internal components. This allows you to use 1.2mm OD capillaries with the HI-7 or HI-9 needle holders.
