Narishige's A-1 Muscle Fixing Apparatus facilitates insertion of a microelectrode into muscle or nerve fibers by gripping both ends of the muscle or nerve fiber and holding it under tension by stretching both ends mildly. Normally, insertion of a microelectrode into muscle or nerve fiber is very difficult. Narishige's A-1 apparatus makes it easy by gripping both ends of the muscle or nerve fiber, stretching them and then holding the specimen under tension. Using the tweezers mounted on the ball joint, both ends of fibers of any length can be held, and moved in the Y-or Z-axis. Also attached is a stand, which allows vertical adjustment and on which the specimen is placed.
