The mismatch repair endonuclease PMS2 is an enzyme involved in DNA mismatch repair. This gene is defective in many patients with microsatellite instability and is frequently associated with hereditary nonpolyposis colon cancer (HNPCC). This antibody is useful for screening patients and their families for this disease and is used in an IHC panel that includes the antibodies MLH1, MSH2, and MSH6.
